How to Make a Peeps Pizza Easter Craft

Felt Pizza with Colorful Peeps bunnies

This Peeps Pizza would make a fun Easter gift for your favorite some-bunny! Who doesn’t love a good Peeps-za? I made this felt Peeps-inspired pizza for the Michael’s Peeps crafting contest last year. I didn’t end up winning, but thought this would be a fun Easter craft project to share with you anyway. This project does require some basic sewing skills. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can also sew it by hand. Follow the instructions below to make your very own felt Peeps-za. I also included a section at the end to show you how to make the pizza box look super cute for gifting. Get egg-cited!

  • It’s gluten-free, dairy-free and calorie-free!
  • You can enjoy this pizza all year round!

Materials

  • Paper
  • Personal-sized pizza box (great way to recycle old boxes!)
  • Off-white felt for “crust”
  • Pink felt for “sauce”
  • Hot pink, yellow, blue, and purple felt (for Peeps bunnies)
  • Thread (ideally matching color of Peeps)
  • Black embroidery floss for “eyes and nose”
  • Cotton/polyester stuffing
  • Tools: Sewing machine, scissors, pins, needle, compass, chopstick, hot glue gun

Optional (for decorating the pizza box)

Instructions

Create pizza crust and sauce

1. Measure the diameter of your pizza box. Create a circle (I used a compass) pattern using this measurement + 1”. My box was 6.5”, so I cut out a 7.5” circle. Cut the circle pattern into quarters. Lay pattern on two layers of off-white “crust” felt and cut out a total of 8 pieces.

2. Trim one of the pattern quarters by ½” on the rounded edge. This will be your pattern for the “sauce”. Cut out 4 pieces from the pink felt.

3. Pin the 4 sauce pieces to the 4 crust pieces.

4. Top stitch ⅛” just along the rounded edge.

Make Peeps bunnies

4. Cut out bunny shapes – 2 of each color. I love using these scissors to cut small pieces of felt.

5. Sew on eyes and nose with black embroidery thread.

6. Place the sewn side with the back of the bunny and hand stitch closely around edges, making sure to leave an opening at the bottom.

7. Flip bunny right side out and stuff with stuffing. Using a chopstick helps to get the stuffing into the tight corners.

8. Hand stitch the bottom opening (using a blind stitch) to finish the bunny. Repeat with the other 3 colors.

Cut out toppings

9. Lay out bunnies on top of the pizza slices and cut out other toppings to fill the space. I cut out eggs and flowers.

Finish pizza

10. Pin the 4 front pieces to the 4 back pieces, right sides together.

11. Sew around each slice (¼” seam) leaving an opening at the rounded edge.

12. Trim corners and flip the pizza slices right side out.

13. Fill with stuffing and hand stitch (using a blind stitch) to finish each slice.

14. Finally, add the toppings: You may either sew on or hot glue the toppings. I chose to attach the eggs and flowers and left the bunnies free to HOP around!

Optional: Decorate the box!

If you’re giving this Peeps pizza as a gift, here are some ways to make it look eggs-tra special!

  • Paint the pizza box your favorite color! I used a $0.50 rejected paint sample I picked up at Home Depot.
  • Add a fun logo! I designed this Peeps-inspired one in Cricut Design Space. I cut out cardstock with my Cricut machine and had to manually tweak a few edges with a craft knife to get it just right. The phrase “You are what you peep!” was made with white vinyl.
  • Add green Easter grass! Can’t find Easter grass? Just cut light green tissue paper into strips and crumple. I used a mix of Easter grass and tissue paper here.

Hope you enjoyed this fun Easter craft tutorial! If you make this Peeps-za or something similar, be sure to tag me on Instagram so I can see and share your creations. Hoppy crafting!
