My Pink Christmas Home Tour

I love decorating my home for the holidays and last year’s pink Christmas theme is still my favorite! I never got to share this last year so I’m sharing all the details with you now as inspiration while you’re decorating your own home. I’ve always enjoyed non-traditional color palettes and one of my favorite color combinations is pink and mint. I love it so much that they were my wedding colors too! I took a different approach with the color scheme for each area of my home. The living room used bolder colors while the kitchen used pretty pastels. The unifying color was pink!

Living Room

Christmas Tree

My Christmas tree is an artificial tree my husband and I purchased from Sears when we moved into our home 6 years ago. Fun fact: We took advantage of the cyber Monday sales and Sears points (from buying our appliances there) and only paid $2.45!! It truly was a Christmas miracle! I love that it’s pre-lit and has branches that really do look like real pine.

Garlands

To the tree I added two garlands that had light pink, fuschia and aqua glitter berries. In the middle I placed a large “Fa la la la” garland. The color-blocked chenille letters and pom poms really add a fun touch!

Ornaments

I used a variety of ornaments I’ve collected over the years. I love a balanced tree, so I make sure to space them out by color and shape to create symmetry. To do this I start with the large balls (light pink), then add in the smaller balls (pink, mint and teal), followed by any character or novelty ornaments. The ballerina animals are probably my favorite!

Giant Bow Tree Topper

I topped off the tree with a giant pink glitter bow I made myself! The ribbon only had glitter on one side so I had to strategically twist and wire and it all into place. It probably took me 10 tries to get it just right! I love how the bow became the focal point of the tree and perfectly matched the large pink ball ornaments.

Fireplace

The fireplace is the one place in our home that gets decorated consistently for each season. Our fireplace is original to our home (circa 1960’s) and since we don’t ever use it, I’ve enjoyed playing with different ways to style it. Last year I placed a starburst mirror in the center of the mantel. In front of it are vintage inspired deer (in mint and pink!) and matching snow globe ornaments containing their “mini mes”. On both sides of the mirror are bottle brush trees and vintage inspired finials. These bottle brush trees are from Target and Hobby Lobby. 

The white houses on the ends are stocking holders that hold matching cable knit stockings – the large ones for me and my husband and the mini ones for my two dogs. I draped a colorful felt “Merry and Bright” garland to pull the whole look together.

On top of the fireplace, I added a bundle of sparkly birch logs tied with another pink bow that matched the one on the tree. On the hearth, I placed a mint truck that was a lucky find from a few years ago. It’s definitely one of my favorite pieces from Home Goods to date!

Kitchen

Every year I dress up the counter at the back of our kitchen. It’s the perfect place to display the delicate items I’ve collected over the years. I used a softer pastel palette that included light pinks, mints, creamy whites and pops of gold. The overall look is sugary sweet! I love how my mint Instant Pot and pink KitchenAid Mixer fit right in with the color scheme.

Party Table

Last year I invited some friends over for a pink Christmas brunch potluck. We snacked, chatted and had a pink elephant gift exchange. It was so much fun! I wanted the table to feel like a snowy winter wonderland so I covered it with a pink striped tablecloth and topped it with a faux fur runner to look like snow. I added bottle brush trees, mercury glass votives and scattered a few small ornaments.

Centerpiece

The centerpiece was a resin gingerbread house inspired by Peggy Porschen’s gingerbread village. I placed it on a light blue cake stand to add height and make it look like a real dessert. Isn’t it dreamy when lit? I have a funny story about this gal! Last year I had seen a bunch of photos on Instagram featuring this piece and was simply obsessed with it. I couldn’t find it anywhere online so pretty much gave up. One night I went to Home Goods and literally gasped when I saw this propped on a shelf. There was only one left! I’ve never put anything into my cart so fast! I’d definitely say it was a dream come true!

Update: I’m still getting messages about this very popular piece! The below photo was even featured on POPSUGAR!

Place Settings

I kept each place setting pretty simple with a silvery blue napkin wrapped in pink satin ribbon. I attached mini ornaments and wood house cutouts to tie in with gingerbread house centerpiece.

Favors

To keep with the sugary theme, I made the favors look like the most delicious holiday drinks! These snowflake coffee cups I found at Marshalls were a perfect fit. I removed the lids and filled them with small goodies (soap, hand cream and candies), then topped each of them with a pink shower poof to look like whipped cream. To finish the look I added a paper straw with a snowflake cut out I made using my Cricut machine. Isn’t it sweet?

A Sweet Idea

These were party favors but would also make the perfect gift for the sweets lover in your life. Just toss in a gift card to their favorite bakery or coffee shop!

I hope you enjoyed my pink Christmas home tour! This year, I’m doing something similar but changing up some details to make it feel fresh. I might add a few more colors too, but don’t worry, pink is here to stay! It’s been so much fun reimagining the pieces I already have and styling them in different ways. I’ve chosen to be intentional with the pieces I purchase so I can love them and use them for years to come.
